Yesterday, the Court of Cassation adjourned the ‘Interior Hospitality’ to June 18, 2023, to give its final verdict.
During the first hearing that was held before the Court of Cassation, all the released suspects and the defendants who are still in prison attended the session accompanied by their defense lawyers, who demanded their acquittal, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Judicial sources told the daily the curtain is expected to fall on this famous case after nearly 1,550 days, since the Ministry of Interior had referred it to the Public Prosecution.
The Court of Appeal had sentenced the main defendant, Adel Al-Hashash, to 15 years in prison, instead of 30 years, and fined him 113 million dinars.
It also ruled to cancel the 10-year imprisonment sentence against other defendants and sentenced them to two years imprisonment with a stay of enforcement. The verdict upheld the convictions of others.
