A person suffocated in a building fire in the Hawalli area, according to a report received to the Central Operations Department of the Directorate-General of Fire Department (DGFD).
The department stated the fire was put out by the Hawalli and Salmiya central firefighting teams. The smoke billowed from the 6-floor residential building after fire broke out on the fourth floor, reports Al-Rai daily.
The firefighters immediately began evacuating the residents from the building before fighting the fire. The victim was treated by paramedics.
