Case of Kuwaiti woman comes up for hearing before detention renewal judge today

Today, the judge overseeing the detention renewal will review the case of the well-known ‘personality’ responsible for causing the tragic traffic accident that occurred in the wee hours of Thursday on August 24, at the intersection of Al-Soor Street with King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Road. This accident resulted in the loss of two lives and the injury to two others when the four-wheel driven by the suspect rammed into their vehicle.

According to reliable sources, Al-Seyassah has learned that the defendant’s legal team intends to request her release on any guarantees that the Renewal Committee deems necessary.

They argue that she is a Kuwaiti citizen and there is no possibility of she fleeing from her own country and asserted there are no valid reasons for her continued pretrial detention.

The accused is facing a total of ten charges, including manslaughter, accidental injury, driving a vehicle under the influence of intoxicating or narcotic substances, exceeding the speed limit, crossing a red traffic signal, reckless driving, driving without valid insurance documents, driving a vehicle without the required license, causing damage to others’ property, and causing damage to public property.
