CAN trains 2,254 nurses to communicate with cancer patients

The Cancer Awareness National Campaign (CAN) announced it has trained 2,254 nursing staff in the skills of communicating with cancer patients and their families and spreading health awareness among them to reduce their burden.

A local Arabic daily quoting the CAN Chairman of the Board of Directors, Consultant Oncology Dr. Khaled Al-Saleh, said CAN has prepared an integrated program provided by oncologists to trainees that includes a definition of cancer, its stages and rates of spread in Kuwait and the world.

He indicated the interest in training nursing staff is due to their direct contact with patients, as this training prepares them to provide correct information about cancerous diseases and provide scientific answers approved by specialized doctors.
