The Ministry of Health has issued directives to the overseas treatment department officials not to receive the transactions from MPs or their delegates.
A local Arabic daily has learned that the Council of Ministers has issued strict instructions to the Ministry of Health and particularly those who are concerned with the overseas treatment file not to receive any transactions or requests which are recommended by the parliamentarians or their delegates for treatment abroad.
The sources indicated that the ministry immediately translated these government directives and circulated the same to the Department of Treatment Abroad and other departments to permanently prohibit intercession and benefit, and whoever violates these instructions will be taken against him strict legal measures.
In this context, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Mustafa Reda, issued a circular stating that the specialized committees for treatment abroad are to be held in public hospitals and specialized medical centers, starting next Wednesday and for a period of one month, for emergency and urgent cases, for which the treating medical team decides that treatment is not available in one of the facilities of the Ministry of Health.
According to the circular addressed to the assistant undersecretaries in the ministry, directors of health districts, director of the treatment department abroad and hospital directors, the head of the treating department submits a request attached to a detailed report to the head of the medical authority, to conduct an urgent specialized committee for that case, and then submit it to the Higher Committee of the Department of Treatment Abroad.
