Cabinet Approved Proposal to Rename Areas of Kuwait; Pays Tribute to Late Dr Al-Khatib 

Following its weekly meeting today, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, the Cabinet has announced a donation of five million Dollars to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, and two million Dollars to provide humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees.

The decision was based on the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the growing need for humanitarian aid for refugees in Afghanistan and Ukraine. The funds have been approved to help refugees of the two countries through the United Nations and the International Committee of Red Cross, says a local Arabic daily.

Th Council of Ministers have decided to approve the proposal submitted by the Public Authority for Housing Welfare. This proposal aims to to rename some cities, suburbs, and residential areas in Kuwait. The issue has now been referred to the Kuwait Municipality for necessary action.

The Council of Ministers, during the meeting also paid tribute to the former National Assembly member late Dr Ahmed Muhammad Al-Khatib, who passed away, last Sunday. He was remembered with appreciation for his sincere efforts and the prominent role he played in Kuwait’s political landscape and the role he played in various levels to serve the causes of his country. Prayers to God, were offered, to have mercy on his soul and inspire his family and relatives to bear this great loss with patience and solace.
