Bulgaria congratulates Kuwait on the occasion of National day and Liberation day

Congratulations to the leadership and the people of Kuwait on the 61st anniversary of Independence and the 31st anniversary of Liberation Day.

In these days of February, when Kuwait national flags are seen everywhere in the streets and the national colors illuminate skies in Kuwait, I am particularly pleased to extend most sincere and heartfelt congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Deputy Amir and Crown Prince, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, to the Government and the friendly people of Kuwait on the 61st anniversary of the Independence and the 31st anniversary of Liberation Day.

As the people of Kuwait honor these historic dates, they are joined in their celebrations by their friends from different nationalities. On this important occasion I would like to express on behalf of my country and the Bulgarian community in Kuwait warm wishes for continued advancement, happiness and prosperity to the State of Kuwait and its people, under the leadership of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince.

Kuwaitis have a lot to be proud of. Their country is a model for stability and welfare in the region. Kuwait has gained wide international recognition for its balanced foreign policy and its successful mediation diplomacy, for the generous support Kuwait has been providing for humanitarian initiatives and development worldwide. Kuwait has not only managed remarkably well in confronting the coronavirus at home, but also contributed significantly for the enhancement of the global and regional response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

I am happy to say that my country enjoys excellent, traditionally friendly relations with Kuwait. Kuwait is the oldest partner of Bulgaria among the Gulf countries and we are convinced that the sixtieth anniversary of establishing our diplomatic relations, which we will celebrate next year, will serve as a stimulus for still closer bilateral ties. We are keen to continue promoting our political dialogue and our cooperation in the economy, education, culture, tourism and other areas of mutual interest.

In conclusion, I would like to renew to the friendly people of Kuwait and its leadership our wishes for enduring stability, advancement and wellbeing.

H.E. Dimitar Dimitrov
Ambassador of Bulgaria
