The Kuwait Stock Exchange indices continued their downward trend for the third consecutive day, recording a significant decline, led by the Premier Market Index yesterday, which decreased by 1.09 percent (-101.79 points), while the general index witnessed a decline of 1.03 percent (-86.63 points), and the Main Market indices and ‘Main 50’ by 0.83 percent (-53.03 points) and 1.03 percent (-69.95 points).

The market value of the total companies listed on the stock exchange lost about 502.3 million dinars from its value in one session, to close at the end of trading today at 48.276 billion dinars, according to the calculations of “Kamco Invest”, according to a local Arabic daily.

Among the 136 companies whose shares were traded in the Premier and Main markets, the shares of 89 companies closed down, 34 shares rose, and 13 shares remained unchanged in their prices compared to the closings of the previous session.

It was remarkable that 21 stocks declined in the premier market out of the 26 listed stocks, while 3 stocks rose slightly National Investments by 0.47%, Integrated by 0.44 percent, and Al-Jazeera by 0.37. percent, while two shares remained unchanged from their closing in yesterday’s session — Shamal Al-Zour and ALAFCO.

As for the main market, it witnessed a decline of 68 shares out of 110 that were traded, while 31 shares rose and 11 settled at their closing level during the previous session.

Sectorally, the red color prevailed in the indices of 8 out of 13 sectors, led by the telecommunications sector, whose index decreased by 1.86%, followed by the industrial sector index, with a decrease of 1.22%, then financial services by 1.21, basic materials by 1.18 percent, and real estate by 1. 14 percent, while the banking sector index fell by 0.93 percent .

The indices of 3 sectors rose — insurance by 0.29%, consumer services by 0.15%, and energy by 0.05 percent, while the indices of the utilities and health care sectors stabilized at their previous levels.
