Booster dose may soon be a condition for travel

The Government of Kuwait plans to make the third booster dose of Corona vaccine mandatory for citizens who wish to travel outside the country.

Sources told Al-Qabas the issue is being studied and does not rule out that its implementation soon, because it comes in the context of a global trend.

The sources added there are recommendations about the need to mobilize efforts by all concerned parties to vaccinate the biggest number of people with the booster dose to help the epidemiological situation in the country to remain at higher level.

On a related level, the Undersecretary of the Cooperatives Societies Sector at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Salem Al-Rashidi, called on cooperative societies to compel visitors to comply with health requirements.

The coops are obliged, based on the recommendations of the Health Requirements Committee of the Council of Ministers, to insist on the visitors of the need to wear masks, sterilize hands periodically, measuring temperature and social distancing.

Al-Rashidi indicated the step has been taken in public interest in light of the developments in the epidemiological situation in the region, especially after the outbreak of the new mutant “Omicron” in Kuwait.
