Birds delay flights at KIA

The official spokesman for the General Administration of Civil Aviation, Abdullah Al-Rajhi – Director of the Air Transport Department – stated that there was a delay recently for some flights from Kuwait International Airport due to the presence of some birds close to the airport runway, which caused a delay in some flights.

He added that this measure is for the safety of passengers and planes from these birds when taking off or landing, and that this is what international air safety procedures stipulate in order to protect passengers and planes from accidents affecting the plane and its engines.

Al-Rajhi also stated that these birds were dealt with according to the procedures and the runway was opened after ensuring that all precautionary measures were in place – wishing all passengers safe journey.
