Belgian Ambassador to Kuwait Piet Heirbaut on Monday praised Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) relief and humanitarian efforts, especially in combating the coronavirus COVID-19 all over the world.
In a statement to KUNA following his meeting with the KRCS Chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer Herbert applauded KRCS’ quick response to affected people to provide the necessary assistance.
The ambassador added that he was notified by the size of the humanitarian programs implemented by KRCS at both international and local levels in facing the virus based on the directives of Kuwaiti leadership in providing aid.
Both officials discussed several issues related to humanitarian and voluntary work and ways to enhance them in both countries.
For his part, in a similar statement, Dr. Al-Sayer stressed KRCS continues the humanitarian role in assisting afflicted people and alleviating their sufferings.
What Kuwait provides through the association to combat COVID-19 embodies the concept of humanity, Al-Sayer said.
Al-Sayer during the meeting with Belgian ambassador tackled KRCS’s most important work and relief activities in all fields.
