Blood Donors Kerala (BDK) Kuwait Chapter organized a blood donation camp at Jabriya Central Blood Bank in association with Kalika science and Literature fraternity. The camp, which was held on Friday, 11 October, was attended by fifty plus donors including Kalika’s members and supporters .
KALIKA is a group of youngsters, and the objective of the fraternity is to organize discussions and debates on various topics of relevance, to encourage the people to adopt advancements in science and technology for the betterment and wellbeing of the society. Kalika urges its members to radiate affection and care for the depressed and destitute around them.
By organizing frequent blood donation camps,BDK Kuwait aims to ensure that the Blood Banks have adequate blood in case of emergency and to spread awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation. The 16 camps held during October in the current year had helped the Central blood bank to stock up on 1172 units of blood. BDK Kuwait has also been able to provide blood to many patients in case of emergency.
The next two events, as part of BDK Kuwait’s monthly blood donation campaign, are scheduled at Jabriya Blood Bank from 2 pm to 6 pm on 1 November and 6 December respectively.
