Bangladesh congratulates Kuwait on the occasion of National day and Liberation day

On behalf of the people and the Government of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I would like to extend warmest greetings and felicitations to the Amir His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and to the brotherly people of the State of Kuwait on the auspicious occasions of the 61st National Day and 31st Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait. Heartiest congratulations.

Bangladesh and Kuwait enjoy excellent bilateral relations with mutual trust and confidence in each other. Both the countries have mutual cooperation in various fields, including air transport, education and culture, trade and investment, technical cooperation in manpower, defense cooperation, tourism, exemption of double taxation and exemption of prior entry visa.

The military cooperation between Bangladesh and the State of Kuwait is also very distinct. The bilateral military ties date back to 1990 when the Bangladeshi Forces took part in the war to liberate Kuwait from Iraqi invasion. Since 1991 and till to date members of Bangladesh Armed Forces have been contributing significantly in the demining process. So far 93 soldiers sacrificed their lives in operation duties. The Government of Bangladesh always emphasizes further deepening the cooperation between two Armed Forces.

The existing bond of fraternal relations between our two countries is a matter of great satisfaction for us. I am sure that it will be further strengthened in depth and dimension by the visionary leadership of the Amir His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

I believe that both our countries have the potential to further consolidate these relations through more interactions and people to people contact to materialize the Vision 2035- New Kuwait and Vision 2041 of Bangladesh.

On these joyous events, I wish continued peace, progress and prosperity for the brotherly people of Kuwait. Long live Kuwait Bangladesh relationship. Allah Hafez
