Bahrain poised to hold 1st Global Water, Energy, Climate Change Congress in Sept.

Bahraini Minister of Oil and Environment, and the Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Bin Daina, announced Tuesday launching the first edition of the Global Water, Energy and Climate Change Congress (GWECCC), from September 5 to 7.

The local news agency (BNA) reported that this was at the Congress Advisory Committee meeting, chaired by Bin Daina and held to examine latest organizational updates and preparations.

The GWECCC is a focused environmental event aiming to enhance sustainability, security of water and energy resources amid global concern to reduce climate change and to contribute to the implementation of environmental programs and policies.

The Minister, while speaking at the meeting, took note of the ongoing collaboration with Arabian Gulf countries in organizing and hosting related specialized events. Bin Daina called the congress a “great opportunity for senior officials from various industrial and environmental fields to discuss challenges and opportunities and learn from the best global practices and advanced technologies in the field of water and energy,” The conference will also include a number of accompanying events, such as the Technology and Youth Forums, and a Technology Exhibition with participants from a number of specialized companies to showcase state-of the-art technologies.
GWECCC is organized in cooperation with the Water Resources Council, ICONEX Global and a number of Local, regional and international organizations.
