Awqaf and Social Affairs project to help 1000 needy families

Within the framework of humanitarian work and support for the needy, charity societies have announced monthly salaries will be offered to needy families through a new project which is being implemented under the supervision of the ministries of Awqaf and Social Affairs.

Al-Qabas quoting well-informed sources in the Ministry of Social Affairs told Al-Qabas some societies were recently given approvals to launch new charity projects, including in the form of monthly salaries for needy families in Kuwait, which are believed to number about 1,000.

The salaries will be commensurate with the number of members of the family and privileges given to them will vary. The payment will be done through what the sources said ‘magnetic cards’ which can be used to buy their products and purchase their needs, whether food or clothing.

The sources pointed out that the associations, after taking the necessary measures and after listing the names of needy families, started disbursing the first salary at the beginning of January 2022. The sources stated that a number of sales outlets have been identified from which the needy families can buy their requirements.

In the context of charity work, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the Al-Safa’a Charity Society announced the launch of the Al-Kiswa Bank project for the benefit of 523 needy families.

The head of the association, Muhammad Abdul Rahman Al-Shaya, confirmed in a press statement that this project aims to provide coupons for purchases, as the quality of clothes, prices and taking into account the multiplicity of branches.
