Attestation of Indian engineer certificates temporarily suspended

Both the Society of Engineers and the Public Authority for Manpower have taken a decision to temporarily suspend the approval of engineers’ certificates for Indian nationals after discovering evidence of falsification of some papers and transactions and using illegal methods to obtain a work permit on the profession of an engineer, reports Al Qabas daily.

The daily reports that the Society of Engineers observed that some residents of Indian nationality had obtained the profession of engineer despite their inability to obtain one legally because his qualifications did not meet the conditions. It stated that the preliminary information in the case that was transferred to the Ministry of Interior indicates the existence of fraudulent seals of government agencies by Asian individuals who live in the Fahaheel area and sell them to the owners who offer payment, which are linked to companies and the work permit renewal.

The daily said that the association previously garnered evidence of Indians forging engineering accreditation papers and handing them to the competent authorities, in addition to a number of forgeries of university degree, most of those who were discovered working in the oil sector.

The association has refused to approve the certificates of 3,000 Indian nationals because they did not comply with the conditions, while about seven Indians were referred to the Public Prosecution on charges of forgery, whether for their university degrees or official papers and records. Around three thousand Indians were transferred to other professions that match their university degrees, whether technicians, laborers, or drivers, etc.
