Arab coalition intercepts drone launched by Houthis towards S. Arabia

The Saudi-led coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen announced on Wednesday that its forces intercepted and destroyed a drone launched by the “terrorist” Houthi militias towards southern Saudi Arabia.

“The continued and repeated attempts of the terrorist Houthi militias to fire drones and ballistic missiles represent violations of the international humanitarian law and threats to the lives of hundreds of civilians,” the coalition’s spokesman Colonel Turki al-Malki said in a press statement carried by Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

These attacks target deliberately civilians and the residential areas and buildings, he added. The coalition forces will take all measures and the best methods to deal with these drones so as to protect civilians, he noted.

The forces also will carry out deterrent measures against these “terrorist” militias to intercept and destroy their capabilities, in line with the international humanitarian law and its norms, he stressed.
