An integrated campaign in the offing to stimulate domestic tourism

The Kuwait Association for Festivals will soon launch the national campaign to activate tourism in cooperation with a number of government agencies, headed by the Ministry of Information, with the participation of more than 150 initiators.

The head of the association, Tariq Al-Obaid, told Al-Qabas daily the campaign is expected to be the largest of its kind, and called on all components of society and the private sector to participate with the aim of unifying efforts to raise the level of tourism work in the country.

This aim is to portray a unified thought with one goal, which is to market Kuwait and make it one of the most important distinctive tourist destinations in the region and restore Kuwait’s leadership, by making it a pearl of the Gulf through unifying government, civil and popular efforts through tourist, cultural, heritage, entertainment and sports tracks.

The president of the association praised the cooperation of various state agencies with the campaign, led by the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Interior and the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, in addition to a number of governmental and private agencies concerned with tourism and entertainment.

Maryam Al-Kharji, responsible for women’s empowerment at the Kuwaiti Association for Festivals, stressed the importance of women’s role in highlighting the bright side of the country, calling on all initiatives to engage in this campaign, which will constitute a distinguished start to revitalize tourism work, restore Kuwait to its era of excellence and leadership, and promote youth and family entertainment.
