Amiri Diwan offers condolences to Turkey in the name of the political leadership

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised the efforts of the State of Kuwait, and the support and assistance it provides in search and rescue operations, following the devastating earthquake that struck southern Turkey and northern Syria.

In a statement, Erdogan expressed his appreciation for the great efforts made by the Qatari and Saudi rescue teams, while inspecting the stricken areas in the state of Hatay, stressing that his government will not leave anyone affected under the rubble, reports Al-Rai daily.

His Highness, the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, had issued royal directives to establish an air bridge to send urgent aid and medical personnel to Turkey due to the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş.

For the second day in a row, crowds of mourners flocked to the Turkish embassy yesterday to offer condolences for the earthquake victims. The Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Abdullah, visited the embassy, where he conveyed the condolences of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad and HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad and the government and people of Kuwait.

The Minister of Public Works, Electricity and Water, Amani Bogmaz, also visited the Turkish embassy to offer condolences and have mercy on the martyrs.

For his part, the ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the country, Prince Sultan bin Saad, said, “We came to the embassy to offer condolences to the victims of the earthquake that struck Turkey, and we believe in God’s will and destiny.”

He referred to the aid package ordered by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince, Prime Minister Prince Muhammad bin Salman, assigning the Salman Center for Humanitarian Relief with urgent support, and announcing the opening of donations, which amounted, as of yesterday morning, to about 50 million riyals and is still The door for donations is open.

Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Saleh bin Amer Al-Kharousi, said, “We share the sorrows of the brothers in Turkey in the human tragedy, and we stand in solidarity and sympathy with them,” noting that the Sultanate has operated an air bridge to provide aid to the Syrians and Turks.

The Canadian Ambassador Alia Mwani said that her country’s government has contributed $10 million in initial support to relief efforts. It also sent the Canadian Disaster Assessment Team to Turkey, which includes military officials and others from the Ministry of Global Affairs in the federal government, to determine how it can contribute to relief efforts, pointing out that experienced Canadian search and rescue workers are currently on the ground.

Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Jianwei said that both the Chinese government and non-governmental organizations have provided emergency humanitarian aid to Turkey. A Chinese relief team has also arrived in Turkey. The government decided to donate 40 million yuan to the Turkish government as a first payment, pointing out that China is ready to continue providing support and assistance within its capacity and according to Turkey’s needs.

The head of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Kuwait, Nisreen Rabian, said that the UNHCR is present in Turkey and Syria, and has 9 offices in the affected areas Syria and we have 7 others in Turkey in areas affected by the earthquake, and it distributed basic relief materials according to the needs.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bukhamseen Holding Group, Jawad Ahmed Bukhamseen, said, “We share the sorrows of our brothers for the human and material losses resulting from the earthquake in Turkey and Syria,” stressing solidarity with the peoples of the two countries in this disaster that befell innocent people and caused thousands of deaths and injuries, which caused great pain to all peoples.
