Almost 23,000 coronavirus cases were recorded in the US in the last 24 hours as the confirmed cases reached 2,023,385, according to Johns Hopkins University. The tally showed that 894 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total coronavirus deaths to 113,818.
New York is the hardest-hit state with 380,892 confirmed coronavirus cases and 30,580 reported deaths.
There has been a spike in coronavirus cases in over 20 states across the nation in the last two weeks, where in Texas, the number of hospitalizations has increased over 40 percent since end of May, while North Carolina, California, Mississippi and Arkansas are all reporting “record levels” of hospitalizations.
