Al Neyadi’s experience an inspiring model for Arab youth, says Emirati ambassador

The Emirati Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, said that the long journey of Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi on the International Space Station is an achievement and a new beginning for the country in the process of scientific development and an inspiring model for Arab youth.

Ambassador Al-Neyadi confirmed to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this success was crowned by the reception of Sultan Al-Neyadi by the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, and the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.

He considered that “this great reception was the most eloquent message confirming the keenness of the UAE’s wise leadership to support its space programme,” stressing that his country is keen to invest in space and people and to empower the nation’s youth and qualify them in this field.

He congratulated the Emirati people and astronaut Al Neyadi, who returned after a six-month journey on the International Space Station, “as he is the first Arab astronaut to spend such a period of time and be able to walk in space outside the station,” saying: “There is no doubt that this achievement is a successful, honorable and inspiring model for the Arab youth.

He pointed out that such successes would not have been achieved “without the grace of God Almighty, then the support of the UAE leadership for the Emirati space program and the efforts of the dedicated men who worked day and night to make this mission a success.”
