Al-Mutairi looks for better services from cleaning companies

The Deputy Director General for Municipal Services Affairs in the Kuwait Municipality, Khalaf Al-Mutairi said developing and raising the level of services provided by the cleaning companies should be done through modern methods and advanced mechanisms to do away with manual sweeping especially of public roads that are vastly prominent in all areas.

He told Al-Jarida that the committee for the qualification and classification of public cleaning companies formed under the directives of the Director of Kuwait Municipality, Engineer Ahmed Al-Manfouhi, is drafting future municipal contracts related to cleaning companies in the 6 governorates which will take into account the legalization of the use of cleaners in the upcoming cleaning contracts in 2024.

With regard to civil contracts in commercial investment zones, Al-Mutairi stated that the reclassification and evaluation of civil cleanliness contracts comes in the second phase after the completion of drafting the municipal contracts in a manner that raises the level of cleanliness, pointing out that there is a vision to change the status of waste containers in front of commercial complexes and investment housing since the current containers are unpleasant to look at and occupies more space.

He explained that the committee seeks, through its meetings and recommendations, to take all observations, including complaints received by the municipality into consideration and are toying with the idea of placing underground garbage containers in big commercial complexes as is done in several neighboring countries.
