National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim on Tuesday called on everyone to steer away from anything that could lead to any social split or division.
“What is happening inside Abdullah Al-Salem Hall (at the National Assembly) is nothing but a reflection of what is really happening in the society,” the speaker said in an interview with the assembly’s TV Channel.
“Grilling is merely an opinion and counter-opinion and I hope that MPs would not drag into other arguments that could lead to social division under any criteria. Yet, I’m optimistic,” he added. The speaker reminded that the MPs and the grilled minister are brothers and belong to the same nation.
The assembly is set to meet on Wednesday to look into a no-confidence motion against Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri.
