Al-Fahd refers dereliction of duty employees at Shuwaikh Customs for investigation

Director of the General Administration of Customs, Suleiman Al-Fahd, referred a group of security and safety employees at Shuwaikh Port Customs for investigation, against the background of not taking the necessary administrative measures and allowing the exit of a truck without passing through the inspection ‘ramp’.

A customs source told Al-Rai that “a shipment coming from one of the Asian countries loaded with equipment arrived at the port of Shuwaikh last Sunday, and after the customs declaration the truck driver arrived at the external gate without being inspected at the ramp.

The source added: “When the data was checked, it turned out that there was a container that had not been inspected, which necessitated contacting the owner of the supplying company, where coordination and cooperation with him was established and the shipment was immediately checked in the company’s warehouses,” and “a team of customs search and investigation team did not find any contraband.”

However, the source confirmed “the director general has taken a decision to refer the security and safety employees for investigation citing dereliction of duty.
