In an unprecedented medical achievement, a medical team at Al Bahar Eye Center performed a complex operation that consisted of implanting a temporary artificial cornea and then conducting a retina operation to transplant the natural cornea.
The operation was done by specialist Dr. Faisal Al-Jassar and specialist in retinal and vitreous surgeries Dr. Mahmoud Al-Rabiah.
This operation is considered one of the complex operations and is being performed for the first time in the State of Kuwait at the center.
It is seen as the beginning of a qualitative transfer to perform complex retinal operations in the event of opacity or failure in the cornea.
