Acting Dean of Diplomatic Corps holds farewell function for Ambassador of Pakistan

A farewell function was held by the Acting-Dean of Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Botswana to Kuwait H.E. Manyepedza P. Lesetedi in honor of the outgoing Ambassador of Pakistan H.E. Ghulam Dastgir.

A large gathering of diplomats attended the function held at the Al Afrah ballroom of Crowne Plaza Hotel on 24  July.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Lesetedi praised Ambassador Dastgir over his very successful tenure in Kuwait and for playing a very effective and prominent role in enhancing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Kuwait. He also congratulated him on has new posting to the UAE.

Ambassador Manyepedza emphasized that his Pakistani counterpart had worked tirelessly throughout his tenure not only to strengthen bilateral relations with Kuwait but also sharpen Pakistan’s soft image at all levels by promoting various products of Pakistan, including agriculture products, apparels and jewelry, and through his close interaction and communication with local media.

The dean also pointed out the Ambassador Dastgir had been a pillar of strength for the Pakistani Community in Kuwait and has been very supportive of the Pakistani businesses by helping them to introduce Pakistani products in Kuwait, and by promoting Pakistan’s Cultural Heritage.

A memento of appreciation was awarded to Ambassador Dastgir in recognition of his unstinted and positive diplomatic efforts during his three and a half year tenure in Kuwait.
