The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) released statistics that highlight that the number of expats affected by the ban on visa renewals for 60 years and above is around 97,612, said Al-Seyassah daily. Recently, a decision was passed that those who have reached the age of 60 and above, and only have higher secondary certificates, and below qualifications or no education, will not be permitted to renew their residency visas.
The law is expected to be enforced from Jan 1, 2021. According to statistics, there are 15,502 expatriate who are 60 years and above with university degrees.
