The Ministry of Health announced 865 new coronavirus infections, raising the total to 88,243 while 1 death was reported raising the number fatalities to 537.
Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA the confirmed cases in the country are in Hawally with 223, Ahmadi 209, capital 191, Farwaniya 132, and 110 in Al-Jahra region. The number of patients receiving medical care in the intensive care departments reached 94 cases, while 8,289 are still receiving the necessary medical care, he added. He pointed out that the number of tests during the past 24 hours reached 4,738, bringing the total to 636,220 tests.
Dr. Al-Sanad renewed the call to citizens and residents to continue adopting all prevention methods to contain the spread of the virus. Earlier, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced the recovery of 626 COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number to 79,417 cases.
