8000 Expats left permanently, and 17,000 residencies lost within 3 months

The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) revealed that 8,000 residents have left the country permanently and residencies of 17,000 were canceled within 3 months, Al Qabas reported.

The residency of people was canceled as the majority of them are stranded abroad, unable to return to Kuwait.

PAM also revealed the 199 residents transferred their residencies from the government sector to the private sector, from the beginning of January to 20 March 2021.

The statistic indicated that the authority approved 18,858 university degrees for residents with university specialties, according to the new automated system, while more than 181,000 work permits were renewed for workers residing in the country.

The authority issued 735 work permits, in addition to printing 459 work visas.
