The number of coronavirus cases rose to a record high of 1,716 with 8 deaths as the Kuwait cabinet meets to discuss new ways for preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
A total of 11,208 new tests were conducted out of which 15.31 percent were infected marking a new high among infected persons in the country.
167 persons continued to be in a critical condition out of a total of 12,071 active cases. 1,125 persons were reported as recovered.
The country is battling to contain a second more infectious wave of the virus and it is expected that a partial curfew will be announced today during the cabinet meeting.
