The Ministry of Health announced 688 new coronavirus infections, raising the total to 79,957 while 2 deaths were reported raising the number fatalities to 513.
The breakdown of the infections according to the health regions was 194 cases in Ahmadi, 129 cases in Al-Jahra, 107 cases in Farwaniya, 139 cases in Hawalli, and 119 cases in the Capital.
Official spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA that there were 97 patients receiving treatment at intensive care wards bringing the total number of all cases confirmed to have (Covid-19) disease and still receiving the necessary medical care to 7,674 cases.
The health authorities conducted 4,006 swab tests in the past 24 hours, raising the whole count to 585,124, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad added. Earlier, the Health Ministry announced the recovery of 506 people from the coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the tally to 71,770.
