Ministry of Health announced today, Monday, that 687 new coronavirus cases of were recorded during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases registered in the country to 72,400, while 4 deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of deaths to 482.
The ministry’s spokesman, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, explained that the 687 cases included 443 Kuwaiti citizens, at a rate of 64.48 percent, and 244 cases for non-Kuwaitis, or 35.52 percent. He stated that the breakdown of infections according to the health areas, with 168 cases in Ahmadi, 168 in Al-Jahra, 147 in the Farwaniya, 117 in Hawalli, and 87 in the Capital.
He indicated that the number of people receiving medical care in intensive care departments is 117 cases, bringing the total number still receiving the necessary medical care to 7,890 cases.
He pointed out that the number of swabs done during the past 24 hours amounted to 3450, bringing the total to 535803. The MoH announced earlier today that 509 infections were cured in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 6,4028.
