During traffic campaigns from Dec 2 to Dec 8 organized by the General Traffic Department 61 motorists have been detained including 42 juveniles.
The daily added, the juveniles have been arrested for driving without licenses and the rest for committing serious violations as a result of traffic campaigns during which juveniles were arrested without driving licenses, and adults were also arrested for committing serious violations, reports Al-Anba daily.
Statistics issued by the General Traffic Department, headed by Major General Yousef Al-Khadda, also revealed that traffic campaigns in the six governorates of Kuwait resulted in issuing 18,940 various traffic violations, and 29 wanted persons were arrested – including 14 for staying the country illegally after the expiry of their work permits.
The authorities also seized 55 vehicles wanted by the judiciary and one person who was in abnormal condition.
The cars have been towed to the Interior Ministry garage and the arrested persons to the concerned authorities.
