51 of the 500 contracted Palestinian teachers arrive today

The Assistant Undersecretary for the Administrative Affairs and Administrative Development Sector in the Ministry of Education, Rajaa Buarki, revealed that there are 246 entry visas ready for Palestinian teachers, which the sector recently obtained from the Ministry of Interior, and other visas are being processed while at the same time announcing the arrival of the first batch of the contracted teachers today, including 51 teachers who had crossed over into Egypt the day before yesterday.

Buarki told Al-Rai daily, that the reason for the Palestinian teachers’ delay is due to some of the procedures that were taken with their country’s embassy in Kuwait regarding the families of some teachers accompanying the teachers.

These teachers who do not number more than 30 were told that they must arrive in Kuwait first and then request the family visa according to the procedures of the Ministry of Interior, which prompted the administrative sector to keep these teachers who have children on the waiting list temporarily and brought in others. The total number of teachers contracted from Palestine is 500.

The sources said that the teachers’ batches will continue to arrive successively from the State of Palestine, adding that all Jordan’s batches have arrived except for the last batch, which is expected to arrive during the current week and includes 7 teachers.

In the meantime, the administrative sector continues to conduct interviews to hire local contracting teachers who meet the conditions and that their applications are sent to the public education sector to conduct interviews and complete the recruitment process.

In addition, an educational source told Al-Rai that the number of Palestinian and Jordanian teachers, in addition to those recently appointed via local contracts will compensate for the shortage in some specializations that were included in the replacement plan recently and led to the loss of 1,800 teachers in Kuwait schools.
