The General Traffic Department reported that a total of 27,823 traffic violations recorded, and 181 vehicles and 15 motorcycles were impounded and taken to the GTD garage in just one week. Additionally, 45 violators were arrested, and 28 juveniles were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution.
Furthermore, the department stated that it meticulously pursued 2,649 different reports, encompassing 217 collision accidents resulting in injuries and 1,139 minor collisions, reports Al-Rai daily.
During this period, two individuals were detained due to abnormal behavior, four individuals were arrested for possessing suspected narcotic substances, 24 individuals and 144 vehicles were sought by a judicial judge, seven vehicles were sought in connection with theft, and 60 individuals were arrested for various reasons such as arrest warrants, absconding, lack of proof or residence permit expiration.
All persons and confiscated items were duly handed over to the appropriate authorities.
