44 percent of adults and 25 percent of adolescents in Kuwait suffer from obesity: Al-Terkait

The Royal Medical Group, in cooperation with Novo Nordisk Pharma Gulf Company, launched an electronic platform for weight management, as this initiative is part of an awareness campaign directed at people with obesity in Kuwait.

The platform allows community members in general, and those living with obesity in particular, to receive education on ways to control weight to deal with the disease, and to support them throughout their weight loss journey, by providing them with the possibility of consulting specialized doctors, to help them achieve a healthy weight and improve their quality of life. Dr. Al-Terkait explained, “According to the latest statistics of the World Obesity Federation, about 44 percent of adults and 25 percent of adolescents in Kuwait suffer from obesity. Through this initiative, we would like to raise awareness of obesity among the community by using our online channels.”
