3,500 people head to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah in 3 days

The decision of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah regarding lifting the precautionary measures for Umrah has revived ticket reservations for departure to the Holy Land on various national and Gulf airlines.

Informed sources in the tourism and travel sector told a local Arabic daily that there is a double demand for flights destined to the Holy Land, after the decision to cancel registration of immunization data to obtain a Umrah permit for those coming from outside the Kingdom, and the cancellation of the mandatory PCR test certificate, as well as the cancellation of institutional and home quarantine, in addition to the cancellation of checking the immunization status while entering the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

The sources indicated that these decisions contributed to doubling the number of passengers and flights departing to both Jeddah and Madinah, explaining that there is a demand of up to 30% in the movement of worshippers for Umrah destinations compared to previous periods.

Regarding ticket prices, the sources stated that prices are affordable for everyone, and range between 120 and 150 dinars for a round-trip to Jeddah and Madinah.

The sources stated 31 flights left the Kuwait International Airport during the past two days including 25 to Jeddah and 6 to Madinah.
