31 country ban to be reviewed every 10 days

The decision to ban expatriates from 31 countries entering Kuwait will be reviewed every 10 days, with the number of countries added or removed according to the reports of the World Health Organization and international organizations, Al-Qabas newspaper reported.

The daily citing sources reported that as part of the review, a mechanism may be set up to exclude specific groups from the ban and allow them to return to the country first, such as judges, doctors, nurses and teachers. There is a specific need for them, and their numbers and names will be counted before implementing the procedures for their return.

The measures are being done for the health and safety of the country, and all countries understand this decision, as it is a sovereign decision of Kuwait. The daily pointed out that when Kuwaiti citizens were prevented from entering the European Union, the Kuwait government understood this decision and did not protest.

The review mechanisms will be based on international reports on coronavirus infections in the countries on the list. The daily quoted sources that the surprise element in the decision was justified, as there are continuous and daily developments with the coronavirus cases in various countries, hence the need for updates and reviews which is necessary for making informed health decisions.
