The Ministry of Health announced 300 new coronavirus infections, raising the total to 59,204, while 1 death was reported raising the number fatalities to 408.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, pointed out that the 300 cases included 211 cases of Kuwaiti citizens, with 70.33 percent and 89 cases of expats, with 29.67 percent.
With regard to the breakdown of injuries according to areas, he explained that there are 107 in Al-Ahmadi, 57 in Al-Farwaniyah, 49 in Al-Jahra, 45 in Al-Asimah area and 42 in Hawali area.
About the latest developments in the intensive care departments, he noted that the number of those receiving medical care reached 132 cases, bringing the total of all cases confirmed to have coronavirus and still receiving the necessary medical care is 9,109 cases.
He stated that 10 persons ended the period of compulsory institutional quarantine in the past 24 hours after all preventive measures were taken. The number of smears that were done in the past 24 hours reached 2009, bringing the total number of checks to 459,349. The spokesman urged citizens and expats to continue to take all means of prevention and avoid contact with others, and to ensure they follow the physical distancing strategy. The Ministry of Health announced earlier today, that 667 injuries has been cured during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 49,687 cases.
