266,000 passengers traveling on national holidays

As usual Kuwait International Airport awaits heavy travel during the national holidays with estimates that the numbers will reach about 266,000 passengers between departure and arrival.

Mansour Al-Hashemi, Director of Operations Department at the General Administration of Civil Aviation, announced that they are in full preparations for the travel season during the national holidays and that they have completed an integrated operational plan with the concerned authorities at the Kuwait Airport, including the Ministry of Interior, the General Administration of Customs, ground service providers and airlines to facilitate the smooth movement of passengers.

Al-Hashemi revealed, in a statement that “they are prepared to keep pace with the movement of passengers and aircraft, during the national holidays, by operating destinations that will witness movements mostly to London, Najaf, Istanbul, Cairo and Dubai with 1975 flights of which 990 of them are departures, and 985 are arriving.

He explained that there will be additional flights according to travel procedures by raising the capacity based on the passenger reservations, and operating requests for airlines according to schedules and regular flights.

He also stated that the Operations Department has distributed teams of employees who will be responsible to provide passengers with all facilities and direct them from the airport entry gate till their arrival on the plane, in addition to setting barriers to regulate the movement of other recipients at the airport.
