Traffic police and rescue police registered 25,947 traffic violations in just seven days.
In the weekly statistics released by the General Traffic Department, 54 motorists have been arrested for reckless driving and endangering their lives and the lives of other road users, reports Al-Rai daily.
Additionally, 243 vehicles and 34 motorcycles were impounded during from the 18th to the 24th of this month. The total number of citations issued by the security sector across various main and secondary roads and intersections reached 20,979.
Further details revealed 12 juveniles were referred to the prosecution, 11 people with outstanding warrants were arrested, 6 were handed over to the General Administration for Drug Control, and 61 vehicles sought by authorities have been seized.
