The Indian ambassador to Kuwait, Sibi George, revealed th250 Indian prisoners in Kuwait, will soon be transferred to India.
In a statement to Al-Rai, the ambassador said a memorandum of understanding has been having been signed between the two countries regarding the exchange and transfer of prisoners some time ago. He explained the lists of the names of those prisoners who will be deported had been completed.
He stated the names of the prisoners have been sent to the Indian government to coordinate with prisons authorities in respective Indian states to help these prisoners complete their sentences in home country.
He praised the fruitful meeting he had with the Kuwaiti Attorney-General, Counselor Dirar Al-Asousi, where they discussed the issue of transferring convicted prisoners and other issues related to the Indian community in Kuwait.
