A security source said that about 1,500 expatriates out of the 18,221 that the Ministry of Interior deported to their countries was due to their possession and/or use of narcotic substances, trafficking and possession of intoxicating substances.
Al-Anba quoting sources said those caught with small amounts are deported immediately and their names are added to the list of persons banned from entering country, while those caught with large quantities of drugs or proven to have traded in narcotics are referred to the judiciary. The Ministry of Interior stated 11,177 men and 7,044 women were expelled from in 2021.
