138 companies charged for breaking work hour ban

197 workers from 138 companies were discovered violating the law that bans working outdoors in open areas from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm.daily until the end of August.

The official spokesperson for Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Aseel Al- Mazeedi revealed that the team inspected 96 work sites for failing to adhere to the decision. 108 sites were inspected once again, and they were abiding by the rules.

The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) announced the start of a ban in June on working outdoors in open areas during the hours. The decision aims to protect labor from the extreme heat, as working in these areas during this period of the year is difficult due to harsh climatic conditions, making it difficult to work for normal working hours.

The implementation of this decision during the past years has received the approval of many companies in many sectors, in addition to that it took into account the public interest and is consistent with Kuwait’s obligations to implement international labor standards in the afternoon.
