130 activities to be located in commercial buildings

The Director General of the Kuwait Municipality, Eng Ahmed Al-Manfouhi, has issued an administrative decision to add new activities to the list of public shops that are, what he called, ‘disturbing’ and harmful to health.

The decision specified adding 130 names for a new activity that will be located in commercial buildings indicating that the possibility of operating activities related to leather goods, renting recreational and sports goods, and shifting them to investment and commercial buildings, and service areas such as the Shuwaikh, Al-Rai, Fahaheel, and Al-Ahmadi industrial areas according to the rules and regulations and according to the requirements, reports Al-Jarida daily.

On the other hand, Al-Manfouhi referred a letter to the head of the Municipal Council, Abdullah Al-Muhri, regarding the Kuwaiti Association for Small and Medium Enterprises to exclude small and medium enterprises from municipal fees.

Al-Manfouhi provided the council with a copy of Law No. 98 of 2013 regarding the National Fund for the Care and Development of Small and Medium Enterprises and Law No. 14 of 2018 regarding its amendments, as well as its executive regulations, based on the Municipality’s request, provided that the municipality discusses the request for exemption from municipal fees in one of the meetings of the Legal Committee and financial committee of the Kuwait Municipality.
