1,000 driving licenses withdrawn from expats

The General Traffic Department continues to review all files of expatriate driving licenses since the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, circulated the need to open files for expat license holders, and to revoke licenses that do not comply with the terms of their issuance, a local daily reported.

According to the daily, traffic officials from various governorates withdrew about 1,000 violating driving licenses within only 40 days, adding that these license holders lost the specified conditions for obtaining the document, such as salary, university degree, profession, and others.

The traffic department ordered all its patrols to arrest expats driving a vehicle with a withdrawn license through the mobile app, and refer them to the Deportation Department.
