10 women caught begging to be deported

A campaign carried out by three security departments — the Public Morals Protection Department, Farwaniya Security, and Residence Affairs Investigation, resulted in the arrest of 10 women of different nationalities who were caught begging for alms in Farwaniya, Al-Firdous, Abdullah Al-Mubarak and Jahra.

A security source said all the beggars were arrested in the vicinity of markets and residential buildings, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added, they have been referred for administrative deportation. All those arrested had money on their person and they admitted to collecting the money from begging.

The sources added, measures are to be taken against non-Kuwaiti sponsors.

The Ministry of Interior has called on everyone to immediately report any case of begging to the emergency phone 112, which receives reports 24 hours a day.
