The Meteorological Department has forecast very hot and dry weather across Kuwait over the weekend, accompanied by dust-raising northwesterly winds that are expected to reduce horizontal visibility in some areas, particularly on Friday.
Acting Director of the Meteorological Department, Darrar Al-Ali, said weather maps and numerical models indicate that Kuwait will be affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system combined with a very hot and dry air mass, resulting in elevated temperatures and dusty conditions.
According to the forecast, temperatures on Thursday are expected to range between 45°C and 47°C during the day, with light to moderate northwesterly winds occasionally becoming active and causing dust in exposed areas. Nighttime temperatures are expected to range between 28°C and 30°C.
Al-Ali noted that Friday will witness the most challenging weather conditions, with moderate to strong northwesterly winds reaching speeds of up to 55 km/h. These winds are expected to stir up dust and reduce visibility in several areas, while daytime temperatures are forecast to reach between 46°C and 48°C.
