Amidst the challenges faced by overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Kuwait, a beacon of hope shines through the dedicated efforts of the Hakbang ng Maisug International Kuwait Chapter. On October 24 and 31, 2025, the chapter will partner with the Salmiya Clinic to host a two-day medical mission, providing essential healthcare services for free. This initiative reflects Maisug’s ongoing commitment to uplift and support the Filipino community in Kuwait.

The medical mission will take place from 8 am to 1 pm at the Salmiya Clinic. The aim is to reach as many Filipino workers as possible. The free services will range from OB-Gyne consultations, eye examinations, and dental check-ups, catering to various health needs. In addition to these essential services, participants can also benefit from substantial discounts on other related medical services available at the clinic.

In a statement, Marita Preema Pereira, the Marketing Coordinator of Salmiya Clinic, shared insights about the clinic’s mission. Since commencing operations in 2024, Salmiya Clinic has expanded its medical offerings to include specialties such as endocrinology, pediatrics, internal medicine, radiology, general medicine, and gynecology.

The clinic prides itself on being a community-focused establishment, frequently participating in medical missions aimed at serving the diverse communities across Kuwait.

The president of Maisug Kiko Olpindo expressed heartfelt gratitude to Salmiya Clinic for their partnership in this mission. “The two-day medical mission is not only a chance to access quality healthcare but also an opportunity for Filipinos to gather, share experiences, and foster a sense of solidarity amidst the challenges of life abroad” stated Olpindo.

The Maisug organization encourages all Filipinos in Kuwait to take advantage of this vital service. With the ongoing support from the Salmiya Clinic, attendees can expect a friendly and accommodating environment, where their health concerns will be addressed with care and professionalism.

As the second part of this significant event approaches, awareness and participation within the Filipino community is crucial. For more information on the medical mission or to sign up, individuals are encouraged to reach out to the Maisug Kuwait chapter.

The collaboration between Hakbang ng Maisug International Kuwait Chapter and Salmiya Clinic exemplifies a profound commitment to the well-being of the Filipino community.
