A crucial component of this commitment is the prevention of human trafficking and migrant smuggling.

PAM’s role in protecting migrant workers

As the primary authority overseeing labor matters in Kuwait, PAM plays a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of migrant workers, reports Q8-Press.

The organization operates a dedicated shelter providing essential support and safety to migrant workers in need.

Furthermore, PAM actively enforces the country’s stringent anti-human trafficking laws, working tirelessly to protect the rights of migrant laborers.

A collaborative approach to combating human trafficking

PAM spokesperson and Chairperson of the Permanent Coordination Committee, Ms. Aseel Al-Moayed, emphasized the complex nature of human trafficking and the necessity of a united front to combat it effectively.

She stressed the importance of collaboration among government entities, civil society organizations, and international bodies to address this pressing issue.

Ms. Al-Moayed commended Kuwait for its resolute stance against human trafficking and its proactive implementation of Law No. 91 of 2013, which specifically addresses human trafficking and migrant smuggling.

She also expressed PAM’s support for the National Committee tasked with implementing the National Strategy for Preventing Human Trafficking and Smuggling of Migrants.

Raising awareness to combat human trafficking

Understanding the significance of public awareness in combating human trafficking, PAM, in collaboration with the Labor Union, the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the National Committee for the Prevention of Human Trafficking, is organizing an awareness-raising event to coincide with the World Day Against Human Trafficking.

Scheduled to take place at the Avenues Mall next Tuesday from 10 am to 10 pm, the event aims to educate a broad segment of the community about this critical issue.

Ms. Al-Moayed extended an open invitation to the public to participate actively in the upcoming awareness-raising event.

She highlighted the importance of collective action and international cooperation in eradicating human trafficking and migrant smuggling.

In conclusion, Ms. Al-Moayed reiterated PAM’s dedication to safeguarding human rights both within Kuwait and on a global scale.
